Paperwork shows Austin’s Tesla Gigafactory nearing an opening date – KVUE.com

Tesla is expected to produce electric vehicles at the manufacturing plant, however, it’s not clear exactly when that will start happening at the Austin site. Elon Musk, Tesla CEO, previously said the company was aiming to start production at the end of 2021.

The $1.1 billion factory, located at 13101 Harold Green Road in Austin, sits near the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport off of State Highway 45 and U.S. 130.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently tweeted that the factory would be hosting a “grand opening party with factory tours in early 2022.”
