Construction of Mercer road to begin next week in Fayette County – ABC 36 News – WTVQ


LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that the first phase of construction of a new right turn lane for westbound Mercer Road onto northbound KY 1978, Greendale Road, will begin Monday, Sept. 20.

According to the KYTC, roadwork will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and is expected to conclude on Friday, Sept. 24. No lane closures or detours will be necessary.

The first phase of construction includes the removal and rebuild of a section of dry stack stone wall near the intersection to make room for the new turn lane.

Motorists should watch for crews and equipment.

All work/closures are subject to change depending on weather, emergencies, and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
